Profile Last Updated: May 15, 2009
Nestled away in a secret corner of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Apex offers snow seekers 1,112 acres of magnificent fall-line skiing and boarding. With 600 meters of vertical drop and an average of more than 600 centimetres of snow per year, Apex is not exactly a beginners' paradise. In fact, only 16 per cent of the terrain in Apex is rated for novice enjoyment. Praised for having some of the best skiing in North America, Apex boasts dry Okanagan powder, short lift lines and uncrowded slopes. Don't forget your shades; Penticton, one of the sunniest spots in Canada, is only 33 kilometres away!
Quickdraw
The high-speed Quickdraw quad chairlift whisks skiers to the summit in under six minutes. From there you can access any number of Apex's 67 runs.
Skate away
A unique one-kilometre ice skating adventure trail makes for a great alternative if a break from the slopes is required. Many other winter sports including snowbiking and tube sliding are also offered.
