The Skinny
This nine-hole layout on the south side is one of the few of its kind in the Edmonton area. Management decided to invest a bit in the course a few years back, and the change has made a difference. The improvements are obvious, from the playability of the greens to the overall health of the track itself all making for a much better experience than what 7 Oaks offered before the renovations. That's good news for the visitors.
The Layout
Featuring a combo of narrow fairways and a heavily-treed perimeter, 7 Oaks can definitely bite a golfer who tends to spray the ball. Water is always a consideration as well - Blackmud Creek snakes its way through six of the nine holes. The one to be extra careful with is the sixth hole, a lengthy par-four that measures a healthy 436 yards. Those with local knowledge will tell you to be long and straight off the tee (as if it were that easy), though that doesn't necessarily ensure a good score. You see, trees can affect your approach and the large green slopes a bit making a precise iron all the more important.
