Sod was first turned in 1929, just north of Whyte Avenue, for Acacia Hall when Masons in the Old Strathcona area felt a need for their lodges to have a common meeting place. Today, it is used by at least six Mason lodges in the area for meetings and other social functions. Wheelchair accessible and seating 83 people, it is also used for a Fringe venue each August.
