Passionate for Beer
Beer from Big Rock is brewed using only four ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast and water. The beer has an all natural flavour and is free from preservatives. The founder of the brewery, Ed McNally, started Big Rock to create a premium, natural, unpasteurized beer. His own knowledge, accrued as a former barley farmer, has helped the brewery maintain the extremely high standards held by the Bavarian Purity Law, first implemented in 1516. Their current objective? To only brew the best beer.
Be Part of the Production
Big Rock offers tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1:30 pm. The hour long informative walk will take you through the processes of making the highest-quality beer. Included in the tour are stops at the Brew Kettle, Hot Wort Tanks, Fermenting and Filtration stations, and end with a look at Kegging, Canning and Bottling. To truly understand the process, everyone will be able to create their own 6 bottle pack to take home as a souvenir. Space on this tour is limited, so be sure to pre book!
Food on the Side
The Brewery’s Kitchen features a full menu complete with daily lunch specials. In the evening, they offer an appetizer buffet and a dinner menu that incorporates their beer into the recipes. Some items include Grasshopper Beer Can Chicken, Black Amber Harvest Beef Stew, Brewmaster’s Honey Brown Ham.
