A Rich History
Originally located on Jasper Avenue, the restaurant moved into its new location on the cusp of the downtown core in the early 1980s. Elegant Asian décor and deep rich colours permeate the spacious main dining room and adjoining lounge. Featured prominently in the centre of the room is a traditional Chinese pagoda, adding authentic Asian ambience to the space. The Blue Willow is open for evening dining only, including a brisk take-out and delivery service.

One taste and it’s easy to see what all the fuss is about. House specialties include the green onion cakes, vegetarian spring rolls, Mongolian beef and the Szechuan pork. And that’s just the beginning of this extensive and varied menu featuring such Chinese classics as egg foo yung, Cantonese chow mein (with shrimp, pork, chicken and vegetables), tangy lemon chicken and spicy ginger beef. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, Blue Willow patrons can choose from a number of delicious desserts like the chocolate banana wonton, coconut mango ice cream cake or Belgian chocolate pear.
