More spacious on the inside than its outer appearance indicates, the Bonnie Doon Community Hall is one of the neighbourhood's prime meeting places. Opened in 2004, this location is also frequently used for weddings and anniversaries, but has been more prominent as recent years as a music venue.
That seemed to start with the punk set after the antiquated Spartans Men's Hall was torn down in Belvedere some years back. Back then, fledgling acts like SNFU used the spot when nightclub or entertainment agency would touch them. Alt-rock upstarts book the hall occasionally, but the most regular clients are folk music bands. It is also possible to reserve the hall for meetings.
