Located next to Garage Burger and operating since 1979, Boots offers a laid-back retreat for its largely gay clientele, which is drawn by its rumpus room atmosphere. Very lounge-like, the bar exudes a relaxing vibe in its main room, while a showcase room features a changing array of drag and fetish shows. The place is also a regular meeting place for the Edmonton Community of Uniformed Men and the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose, which showcases the Mr. and Mz. Gay Edmonton bash every year.
The Regulars
It's referred to as the "country club" to the regulars, who see the nightspot as a relaxing alternative to the more energetic gay club scene. That’s not to say that you will find an air of ennui here, but rather a perfect spot to meet up with old friends, and perhaps make some new ones. The lounge feel entices during the week, but on the weekends, the volume goes up, and the party begins. Boots N’ Saddle is know as one of Edmonton’s liveliest show bars.
Something For All
If you’ve never visited an alternative lounge, then give this one a try. Here you can have your choice of evening ranging from a quiet pub night to the festival feel of a weekend at Mardi Gras. Everyone is welcome, and weekends are worth a visit for the excellent entertainment on the stage.
