The clarity of the sound inside Convocation Hall can be gauged by one simple fact. Classical music concerts at Convocation Hall are regularly recorded for broadcast on CBC Radio Two.

The clarity of sound inside the 450-seat hall makes it a perfect space for smaller chamber and solo classical music concerts.

Convocation Hall is a wing of the original Arts Building at the University of Alberta, an ivy-covered campus landmark which dates back to 1912. Its name comes from its place as the university's first major hall where all important functions were held.

It has been used as a major performance hall by the U of A's music department for more than 40 years. It is most frequently used for classical concerts, but jazz and world music shows have also hit the stage there.
