The Skinny
There are many advantages to booking a round at Country-Side Golf Course, depending on how you approach the game. You wanna test your swing in the wind? You'll get the opportunity at Country-Side. Does the thought of a long 18 make you drool? Better get something to wipe your face then. Do you want to do the following without mortgaging the house? You're in luck because weekend rates are still less than the cost of filling up an SUV.
The Layout
Country-Side has 27 holes in total, 18 of which make up the gruelling Prairies course. Six of the first nine holes feature water hazards and the seventh is honestly a site to behold; 634 yards of a petrifying uphill five-par, unofficially known as "The Beast" by the employees. The back starts with a tiny par-four, a real birdie opportunity, before heading into a difficult stretch usually impacted by the aforementioned winds. Unlike the imposing Prairies, the Woodlands nine is exceptionally shorter though it requires some precise shot-making. It means the risk-reward ratio is much higher. Take the second hole, a 280-yard par-four cut out of the natural bush. Sure you can pull out the Big Bopper and gamble for eagle but a 70-foot evergreen between the tee and the hole will make you rethink driver.
Don't be a hero-just hit the seven iron.

Yardage: Prairie 18 just under 7,000 from championship tees, 6560 from white, 5,900 from red. Woodlands nine is 2,800 from championship tees, 2,700 from white, 2,500 from red.
