Ice skating is traveling on ice with skates, narrow (and sometimes parabolic) blade-like devices moulded into special boots. It is mainly done for recreation and as a sport such as hockey or speed skatnig. Skating is often done on frozen rivers and lakes and at in indoor and outdoor skating rinks with natural or artificial cooling.
Three Decades of Good Times
Crestwood arena has been a hot spot for young skaters, hockey and ringette players over the years. The arena has an ice surface of 185 feet x 81 feet, seating for 150 plus an additional 100 standing, safety netting, joint parking with a church and daycare centre, four dressing rooms (no showers), automatic skate sharpening machine, and vending machines. When the future NHLers aren't on the ice, there is public skating on Fridays.
