New on the Scene
The Shell Theatre is the latest addition to a hefty list of performance spaces in the Edmonton region. The 550-seat theatre is located in the sprawling Dow Centennial Centre, a huge multi-purpose complex that includes indoor soccer fields, a fitness centre, and a skating arena. Versatility is a key focus with the Shell Theatre; it can be set up for music, theatre, and dance performances, as well as other gala functions.

Sightlines and Amenities
The design, a modified half shell layout that evokes the classical Greek theatres, is almost guaranteed to give all patrons a superb view of the stage. The theatre also includes a hearing-impaired sound system and a special lift to the balcony, so everyone can enjoy performances from main or upper levels.

What’s Happening Tonight?
You can rent this venue too! Whether hosting a film or an event, this space is great. It has room for 650 guests in the new and plush lobby and has dressing rooms as well. Want to dedicate a seat in the theatre for someone? For a small donation you can get a family name or someone special’s name on a seat. As well, if you would like to get more involved in the Centre, they’re always looking for volunteers.
