Teeing Up
Membership does have its rewards, as the saying goes, if you want to play the Edmonton Petroleum Club course, which opened in 1993. This private 27-hole course on the fringes of the west end has won raves from members and guests since it opened in the mid-1990s.

On the Fairway
Mark McCumber's design incorporates the mixed aspen parkland into the 18-hole layout in ways that challenge and reward golfers. Trees flank many of the holes, and several tee shots are from narrow tee boxes to a tight, tree-lined fairway. The par-four 14th hole is a shotmaker's hole: a well-placed drive up the left side leaves a mid-iron shot to a green surrounded by bunkers.
