Edmonton Tourism works with both public and private industry partners to create tourism marketing initiatives. The goal is to increase tourism to Edmonton by promoting local events such as festivals and special attractions. In order to strategically plan the marketing of Edmonton as a tourist destination, Edmonton Tourism also works with travel agents, tour operators, and other partners. Edmonton Tourism strives to promote the city as a major destination for conventions, major events, and film production.
Visitor Information Centres
Edmonton Tourism operates under two Visitor Information Centres (VIC): one in Gateway Park and one downtown. The Gateway Park location at the south entrance to the City on Gateway Boulevard has visitor counsellors, a gift shop, seasonal picnic sites, and an extensive selection of brochures. The second location is downtown, at 9990 Jasper Avenue in the CIBC Building, where there are also counsellors and brochures, as well as airport and visitor information, and screens showing Greater Edmonton events and images.

Downtown Location Hours: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Gatheway Location Hours: Labour Day to Victoria Day - Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekends and Holidays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Victoria Day to Labour Day - Daily, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
