In 1983, local couple Gordon and Anne Liske opened up a shop where they served old fashioned milkshakes and pies. The scope, and the operation itself, has since expanded and Fife N' Dekel is now one of the most popular spots in Edmonton for a real authentic deli experience. The Fife N' Dekel moniker comes from a Liske family nickname, which translates to inspired silliness. With a casual and cozy atmosphere, Fife N Dekel is a great place to just relax and enjoy a meal with friends.
Great Sandwiches, Sticky Buns
Any deli worth its (kosher) salt prides itself on sandwiches and at a Fife N' Dekel, the signature item is the oven-roasted turkey. There are also many others like the roast beef or the healthy vegetarian on crunchy sunflower bread. Hot features are served a few times a week and the soups are always made from scratch. Sweets are a big part of this Edmonton chain, especially the cinnamon buns and the pies. At some point, you should try the cowpie, an original Liske family recipe. It's like an individual-sized pie stuffed with a fruity filling and finished off with a buttercrunch topping.
