Here, fabulous food, combined with excellent service make for a wonderful meal. Start with a couple of pieces of sushi, move on to a bowl of miso soup (light and rich), nibble on some yakitori (grilled chicken on skewers), devour the sukiyaki (beef, noodles, vegetables in broth) and finish with a helping of green tea ice cream. Wash it all down with warm saki and green tea. There are no shortage of options at this quaint mom and pop establishment.
Modest Surroundings
The décor is modest, yet cozy and due to a large contingent of faithful patrons, reservations are highly recommended. There are plenty of menu options for those who haven’t acquired a taste for raw fish, offering generous portions and reasonable prices. The members of this family-run eatery have worked tirelessly over the years to earn their outstanding reputation and it has definitely paid off. The Furusato is always busy, but don’t panic if you haven’t made a reservation and don’t have time to wait. The take-out service here runs full throttle, so you can always get your sushi fix.
