Only minutes from the University and Whyte Avenue, this motel is a perennial favourite for out-of-town guests. Open since the early ‘60s, the Gateway truly lives up to its name. Situated on the Calgary Trail by a Home Depot and a Dodge dealership, this motel can be the starting place for your exploration of Edmonton. A low rise, brown brick building, it is surrounded by a spacious parking lot. Lots of room for long haul truckers!
All the Basics
The Gateway has 37 rooms, each equipped with two beds, a telephone, a shower and a television. Cleanliness is paramount and prices are more than reasonable. As there are no entertainment facilities on location, the motel is much quieter than many others. If you’re hungry, the Gateway has two Chinese/Canadian restaurants to serve you. The Zodiac is attached to the motel, while the Plum Flower is just a short walk away. In this motel, no reservations are required and any credit cards are welcome.
