At Glen Allan Recreation Complex (GARC) there is truly something for everyone. Located in Sherwood Park, just 15 minutes east of Edmonton, GARC offers a variety of programs and facilities for kids and adults alike. The Active Lifestyles/Wellness Centre features two workout centres with a variety of fitness equipment and free weights for a top notch workout. Take one of the drop-in classes to get the heart pumping, such as step aerobics or Tae Box conditioning. Classes are available mornings and evenings, and the schedule changes with the seasons. GARC also features an ice arena, eight sheets of curling ice, three racquetball/handball courts, two international squash courts, and two wallyball courts. There is also a sauna and whirlpool to relax those sore muscles. For the little ones, visit the Fun Factory - the preschool centre that keeps kids busy and allows parents to get in a workout. For kids from crawling to six years old, the Fun Factory features preschool gym equipment, fitness and discovery centres, art exploration and more. Rates vary depending on the number of children and time in the centre. Memberships and drop-in passes to GARC are available and range in price and facility access.
