All About Skating
Ice skating is traveling on ice with skates, narrow (and sometimes parabolic) blade-like devices moulded into special boots. It is mainly done for recreation and as a sport such as hockey or speed skatnig. Skating is often done on frozen rivers and lakes and at in indoor and outdoor skating rinks with natural or artificial cooling.

Three Decades of Good Times
If you can do it on skates, you can do it at the Glengarry Arena. The Glengarry Arena has been a hot spot for young skaters, hockey and ringette players over the years. The arena has an ice surface of 190 feet x 85 feet, seating for 150 plus an additional 200 standing, safety netting, joint parking with a church and daycare centre, four dressing rooms, automatic skate sharpening machine, and vending machines.

Who to Contact
The City of Edmonton owns and manages the arena. Patrons can contact the city for further information on hours of operation, group bookings, and program registrations. Lace up, keep fit and experience one of the coolest sports this season!
