Profile Last Updated: January 17, 2009
This place is much bigger than you would suspect from the outside looking in, tucked as it is into the middle of an “L” shaped strip mall. With seating for 225 people, it does a bustling business every day of the week. This is one of the few sports bars on the east side, and one of the few in Edmonton that is open for breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. You can catch happy hour specials Monday to Friday, between 4p.m. and 7p.m.
Everything You Could Want In A Sports Pub
The full bar features over ten different kinds of draught at any one time. A menu with full breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees can help you fill your belly with well-rounded meals. There is a soothing dark wood interior, big and small wooden tables with padded chairs and soft couches, and dim lighting. It has an atmosphere that’s comfortable for sitting, relaxing, watching TV, playing pool, pinball and video games, and enjoying yourself for hours on end.
Calling All Pool Sharks
The 16 pool tables have special lights overhead, so it’s a great spot for pool sharks and those that like observing. The High Run features Triple E and CPA (Canadian Pool Association) games so there is some action to watch every week and month of the year.
Sport Fan Central
The High Run offers a lot of entertainment value in one place, with five big screen TVs showing pay-per-view events for all manner of sports, including hockey, soccer and football. Once a month they feature UFA (Ultimate Fighting) events (cover charge at the door for these events). There’s people to see and things to do every hour of the day and evening at the High Run.
