Despite its landlocked status here in Alberta, Joey's Only has been serving up great suppertime food at its franchises throughout the area for years. Joey’s Only Appetizers include clam chowder, calamari, popcorn shrimp, shrimp cocktail and mussels. For main courses, dig into your choice of salmon, snapper, halibut, sole and trout served charbroiled, blackened, poached, sautéed or lightly fried. Joey’s serves more than 4 million orders of fish and chips every year. The ribs and chicken dishes are also popular menu items.
Joey’s Only understands the importance of returning some of the wealth it has been granted over the years to the community that helped it succeed. Joey’s Only has been assisting and supporting the Alzheimer Society of Canada through fundraisers such as the charity golf classic tournament, and the Fat Fish coupon fundraiser. Joey’s Only restaurant participates in an event called Coffee Break every September and the proceeds from coffee sales are donated to various chapters of the Alzheimer’s Society.
In 1985, seafood lover Joe Klassen wanted to create a restaurant with a friendly, down-home appeal, and the concept was wildly successful. You can see this success in the sheer number of restaurants just in Edmonton; no matter what part of the city you’re in, you’ll probably be able to track down a Joey’s Only.
