At the corner of Fox Drive and Whitemud Drive, surrounded by the beauty of the river valley, sits the John Janzen Nature Centre. Named for a local naturalist who founded the centre, John Janzen shows visitors, young and old, what makes the boreal forest so incredible. Along with being surrounded by one of the most beautiful areas of Edmonton, the centre allows guests to see the inner workings of the environment around us. Local visitors and out-of-town guests alike are sure to be impressed with the wonderful sights that the centre has to offer.
A Great Learning Environment
The John Janzen Nature Centre celebrates the natural history of Edmonton. In one visit to the centre, you too will see that there is a lot to celebrate. Take advantage of the serene surroundings by taking a walk along one of the scenic nature trails or visiting the prairie pond. Guests young and old are sure to come away from the centre with not only a better understanding of the natural environment around us but also how beautiful it is.
