With a beautiful indoor swimming pool, a playground “kukabunga” jungle, rooms to rent for special events and a multitude of special programs, Black Gold Centre offers something for everyone. Throughout the year, the centre hosts events, such as an annual rodeo, along with sporting events and swim meets.
Programs for All
The Black Gold Centre caters to individuals seeking out a fun and stimulating environment for their children. On days when the kids have breaks from school, such as P.D. days, the centre offers recreational day camps for children six to 12 years old. The kids can enjoy a fun theme-filled day and then splash around in the pool. Themes, such as bubble-time, allow kids to enjoy activities like storytelling, snacks and dancing. For younger, preschool-aged children, short two-hour programs are offered each Friday morning. The older set can partake in youth leadership programs, such as the babysitting course, aquatic leadership courses, or the stingray junior lifeguard course. Adults are not left out of the program fun; fitness programs, like aquasize, yoga and aerobics, are offered too.
Jump in the Pool
The large, indoor pool is equipped with a children’s play area and lanes for those wishing to strengthen their swimming skills. Family swimming, public swimming and lane swimming are all offered within their own time slots, thus accommodating many age sets. Weekend, daytime and evening lessons are all offered. The centre also has a Red Cross swim program and first aid training programs.
