Teeing Up
Terrain changes are used to maximum effect at Legends. The 18-hole layout, just north of Sherwood Park and east of Edmonton, cuts up and down the slopes of the North Saskatchewan River valley with a mixture of elevated tee boxes, high greens and side-sloped holes. It's a challenge, however, if you hit well off the tee the course tends to open up favourably.

On the Fairway
The first couple of holes on the front nine are straightforward, but things quickly get interesting after that. The 364-yard (whites) third hole starts at an elevated tee, and finishes at an elevated green guarded by two mean-looking bunkers. The fourth hole, a 528-yard (whites) par-five can be made a lot longer if the wind is coming from the west-southwest. If the wind is coming from the right direction, however, prepare yourself to hit your hugest drive yet.

The Back
The back nine starts at #10's elevated tee box, which leads to a small green guarded by water left and bunkers right. This section features a number of narrow holes, requiring accuracy with the driver. The signature hole is arguably the 18th, a 380-yard (whites) par-four, which requires a second shot carry over a pond to a large (but sloped) green. After putting out, you can finish of the day at the spacious clubhouse, with its 3,000 sq. ft. banquet room and deck. You will also find a dining room that can fix golfers up with anything from a quick sandwich to a full meal, plus a licensed beverage service. The fully stocked pro shop can also equip golfers with clubs, shoes, and all the other accessories they need. The course is popular with groups organizing tournaments.
