Down Home Dining

The food at Louisiana Purchase is hot enough to warm you down to your toes, even on the chilliest winter day. Like they say on the Bayou, this type of food has a tendency to bite back, but if you’re not in ‘red hot’ form, any of the dishes can be adjusted for a moderate or mild palate. Good old southern hospitality reigns with the service – friendly, not fussy. The dining room is warm, colourful and the atmosphere, lively.

Southern Sampling
Chock full of all the signature dishes you’d expect to find at a Cajun and Creole restaurant, the menu at Louisiana Purchase is nicely varied and moderately priced. For starters, order up a bowl of chicken and sausage or seafood gumbo. How about some alligator kebabs (skewered gator with black bean and mango salsa)? Pecan breaded brie, beer battered shrimp, crab cakes – they’ve got it all here.

Jambalaya Nights
Keep those taste buds on their toes with steaming hot entrées like the blackened catfish, Louisiana gumbo, cottonpickin’ chicken (spiced breast of chicken with back bacon and provolone cheese) or the pecan pork medallions. And there’s plenty more on the menu featuring a tantalizing assortment of seafood, pasta and beef platters. Really hungry folks can try the humungous servings of jambalaya on Monday and Tuesday evenings. If you fancy getting a group of your friends together, Louisiana Purchase will be happy to accommodate for a private booking or a set menu for larger parties.
