Now owned by Liz Claiborne Inc., one of the largest multi-brand apparel, accessories and fragrance companies, Mexx was founded in 1980 by cloth supplier Rattan Chadha. The company began with two popular clothing brands from the Netherlands: “Moustache,” the men’s line and “Emanuelle,” the women’s line. In 1986, the two brands were united to create Mexx, using the M of “Moustache,” the E of “Emanuelle,” and XX (an abbreviation for kiss, kiss). The store creates trendy fashions and accessories for customers aged 0-40+ years, with lines for babies, kids, teens, women and men.
