A Culinary Gem
If you are looking to discover one of the city’s rising culinary chefs, then head over to Ernest’s Dining Room. Ernest’s is a one-of-a-kind restaurant that showcases the culinary and hospitality skills of NAIT’s first and second year culinary students at their renowned Hokanson Centre for Culinary Arts. As part of their educational program, students in their second year of culinary arts work in the kitchen, while first year students participate in a front of the house customer service class where they gain experience in a real restaurant environment.

Casual Elegance
Ernest`s interior decor of cherry wood and brass highlights lend the student-run restaurant a certain elegance and charm. Specializing in global cuisine, the restaurant`s menu changes three to four times year in order to accommodate a new class of students. This allows guests to come back for a unique dining experience over and over again. Culinary arts students are allowed input on menu items and also design a table d’hôte menu as a special feature in the evenings.

Continuing Education
NAIT`s Hokanson Centre for Culinary Arts also runs numerous cooking and wine classes through their continuing education department. These are available throughout the school year from September to April, as well as during the summer months.
