Remember When...
There is something that is extremely chic about icons from the old communist empire. The red star, once a symbol of tyranny and oppression, is everywhere, from t-shirts to labels to the names of trendy new bars. But the red star is also a symbol of the brewer’s art (that’s why it's on Heineken bottles), so the name befits what’s a very trendy spot to spend the night sipping cocktails or revving up with a couple of drinks before heading to one of downtown’s dance or live-music spots.

Located on the first floor of what looks like a two-floor mini strip-mall, the Red Star is a hip little gathering spot that has gained a reputation by word of mouth. The music won't be overpowering, as conversation is key at Red Star. This crowd is low key and all about having a good time. The lighting is dim and the music is great.

Pub & Fun
The pub features some special funk music and smaller live shows on selected nights throughout the week. It isn’t open for the lunch hour, but the doors open at five o'clock during the week, making it a prime spot for some after-office cocktails. There are often well known DJ’s on Thursdays and on the weekends. So go Russian, and head to this eclectic night spot.
