The Citadel Crew
Part of the five performing centres that make up Edmonton's impressive Citadel Theatre, the Rice Theatre lets audiences and performers connect on a very close level. The Rice Theatre is a ‘black box’ concept. Even though it's on the small side, it is a completely-equipped stage that is perfect for concerts and performances.
Intimate Surrounds
There are only 216 seats in this setting, often described as the inside of a show box. Seating is split almost equally between the floor and balcony, but audiences are never far from the stage, which measures 400 square feet. The Rice has a separate, private lobby, full lighting and sound, dressing rooms and a coat check. The lobby can fit 240 for a stand up reception.
A Practical Venue
The theatre is available for private bookings. It is great for events, receptions or various group needs. There are reduced rates for charitable functions. You will also have access to front of house staff, coat check, tables and anything else you might need to make your performance or event a very successful one.
