Rogers is known for its scarlet red color scheme, which are staples of the store and fixtures design. As a division of the Rogers Cable subsidiary of Rogers Communications, many Rogers Video stores provide cable TV, Internet, home phone and cellular phone sales and services in addition to the primary movies and games rentals. Rogers Video has recently announced that it will no longer charge either late fees or restocking fees. Hot New Releases are the most popular items at Rogers and they are organized on the main perimeter shelves alphabetically. There are a number of seven-day Rentals for older goodies, which can be found in all the usual genres, as well as sections dedicated to TV DVDs and Canadian films. Most stores carry all the latest videogames and have bountiful selections of used titles for sale.
Rogers Video Direct
Rogers Video has partnered with Zip.ca, providing an online DVD rental service, where DVDs are delivered by mail. First users reserve their choices from an electronic library of over 52,000 titles, which will be shipped via first class mail to your doorstep or apartment. Rogers Video Direct offers eight different monthly membership plans to cater to your viewing tastes, allowing up to six or eight DVDs to be rented at a time. There are a number of free shipments per month for the various plans (the more expensive the plan, the more free shipments), which otherwise cost a nominal fee unless you choose an “unlimited” plan. Some also include a couple in-store coupons for when you don’t mind taking a vacation from your home theatre. Since there are no late fees, you watch the individual flicks at your leisure before sending them back to reserve some more.
