Namesake – Arena or Agrena?
Where does the name “Agrena” come from? To recognize the essential role of the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society, who sponsored the development and construction of the ice facility, the city gave it its unique identification by naming it the “Agrena.” This treasured landmark is a valued leisure facility for the people in Spruce Grove.

Rent Me
Whether it is for a fun hockey league in the winter, roller hockey or lacrosse in the summer, or some special event, the Agrena is available for rent all year long. Between the months of April to August, the Agrena is also a great place to hold a small event as there is seating available on the floor and in the bleachers for up to 2,500 people- of course there is no ice. Smaller meeting spaces are also available in the curling club or private meeting room. The ice on the arenas is of the highest quality and even hockey goers from Edmonton drive the distance just to use and rent out the Agrena.

Details

Dedicated to Number 31: The west arena of the Agrena was named the “Grant Fuhr Arena” on February 16, 2004. This dedication was in honor of one of Spruce Grove’s favourite locals and legendary NHL goalie.
