The St. John Ambulance is one of the oldest service organizations in the world, with roots that date back to the era of the Crusades. The organization has been active in Alberta for more than a century, providing first aid and safety training. Thousands of people have taken their first aid training through St. John Ambulance, learning the ABCs (Airways, Breathing and Circulation) of CPR, as well as gaining valuable skills that help them at home and at work. First aid and safety training is the primary mission of St. John Ambulance, and certified instructors are busy almost every day of the week preparing or administering training courses.
Community Service
St. John Ambulance puts its teaching into action in the community. The organization supplies trained first aid volunteers for community events like festivals and sporting events. St. John Ambulance volunteers are a called out to help with emergency situations when first aid and crisis services are needed. Volunteers also provide support and comfort to emergency room visitors at hospitals.
