Any Saturday that you’re there you can pick up everything you need for the week from the friendly neighborhood business owners. There’s more than just the usual farm produce staples, including some specialty items that are hard to find in commercial stores like bison, flax seed products, homemade jams, jellies and pickles, and mink oil products. This market is just the place to find the kind of long lasting pot scrubbers, crocheted dishcloths, custom knit slippers and mitts, cozy afghans just like Grandma used to make.
Not Just Food
It’s also a great place to find hard-to-find gifts, like uniquely crafted gem jewellery, handmade clocks with backgrounds of your choosing or sheepskin slippers, perfect for keeping tootsies warm during our western Canadian winters. The local artisans always have new creations on display. Stay for lunch in the concession or sit awhile and join the ranks of the coffee crowd that meets there every week, rain or shine.
Bring the Family
This Market runs later than most Farmer’s Markets, so keep it in mind as a great place to find a locally made Christmas present for the one you love. Every year there’s a Mother’s Day promotion, so bring Mom or Grandma out to enter the draw for a gift basket or geranium. It’s worth the trip to the Stony Plain Farmers’ Market to be able to enjoy the friendly ease of a traditional marketplace and consistently high quality locally produced agricultural products and hand made goods.

Farm Fresh: One of the things that regulars of the Stony Plain Farmers’ Market enjoy most is that their favorite things, like farm fresh eggs and honey or gourmet smoked sausage, are there reliably, week after week, season after season.
