Profile Last Updated: December 20, 2008
Terwillegar Park is for the dogs, and the cyclists, runners, hikers, and skiers. There's enough room in the 459-acre park so that everyone can enjoy the park in relative peace and quiet. The park, built in a former gravel pit, still has some water-filled ponds that remind visitors of its past. The wide flat central area of the park is ideal for letting Rover roam free of the leash. The network of winding, undulating trails around the park's perimeter is a favorite area for mountain bikers, who have regular races on courses snaking through the trees.
Watch the Wildlife
Terwillegar Park is an excellent place for seeing wildlife, deer, rabbits and other woodland creatures regularly travel through this natural area. Cross-country skiers looking for some solitude also use the park in winter.
