Fun is the Focal Point
The wide aisles at Toys “R” Us are lined with the latest innovations to challenge a young person’s imagination, along with the classic games and playthings that have endured for generations. Action figures, bikes and scooters, puzzles and stuffed animals are among the categories in this supermarket of fun. Whether a child is passionate about buildings and construction, or science and nature, there’s a wide array of items waiting to be explored. Sophisticated videogames and electronics are carried alongside baby furniture and educational toys geared to building specific skills. Toys starring the latest characters from hit movies and television are always in stock.

Babies and Beyond
Toys “R” Us has roots dating back to 1948, at a baby furniture store in Washington, DC, which evolved to carry items for the kids as they grew older. The mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe, has been around since the 1960s. Toys “R” Us opened its first Canadian location in 1984 and has been a fixture of residential communities across the country. The stores within each store include Babies “R” Us, the learning-oriented Imaginarium and the videogames and systems inside the “R” Zone. The stores match any advertised price from a competitor and have a 45-day return policy. Popular toys are featured in a flyer of weekly specials and new items are regularly added to the clearance section.

All the Names Grown-Ups Know
Dolls, stuffed animals and trains are among the items that never go out of style, giving adults the opportunity to renew their relationship with the toys that they remember from childhood. Barbie, Hot Wheels, Lego, Matchbox, Play-Doh and Sesame Street are a few of the familiar lines constantly being renewed with new perspectives on old favourites. Fisher-Price, Hasbro and Playskool are among those trademarks of quality that kids recognize from the earliest age.
