The University
Located in the south side of Edmonton, overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, the University of Alberta boasts a friendly campus and spectacular scenery, largely due to the river valley park system that bisects the city. The campus is also minutes from downtown and the Old Strathcona district, one of the Edmonton's most vibrant neighbourhoods.

The Amenities

Research
The university is also a top-notch research centre, with practitioners working on scientific and medical breakthroughs ranging from the development of the pacemaker to boosting the chances of curing diabetes. The hospital is one of the most modern health-care facilities in the world.

The Sports
But the U of A offers more than higher learning. It's also home to the U of A Golden Bears and Pandas, teams who are among the top contenders in sports like football, hockey, basketball, soccer against other university and college competitors.
