Wild Earth Bakery and Coffee shop is a growth business. After opening the café in 2006, the owners took over a defunct grocery store down the street and opened the Wild Earth Foods. What does that mean for the bakery? Fresh ingredients all day long – and the baked goods are clearly fresh.
Comfortable Inside and Out
Located on the northwest corner of 89 Ave and facing 99 Street, the bakery looks smaller than it is. Although it has several small tables outside for sitting and sipping in the sun, inside there is ample seating. The décor includes comfy leather chairs, wood tables and a row of barstools facing 99 Street; a perfect spot to have some coffee, read the paper and sample of baked goods.
Keeping Stock Ready for Nibbling
Featured items on the menu board include savory items like sausage rolls and cheese buns, but the sweet things — scones, muffins, croissants and tarts — are the major pull. There are also fresh-backed cookies available for someone with a lower-grade sweet tooth, as well as daily baked specials (pecan balls are a favourite). Remember to pick up the perfect accompaniment to your snacks at the counter: fresh-brewed lattés, espressos and teas are available and are available made to your specifications.
