There is probably no more anticipated a date on Edmonton's festival calendar than the second weekend of August, when thousands upon thousands of music fans converge upon the natural amphitheatre setting of Gallagher Park for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. With Edmonton's picturesque skyline providing the backdrop, dozens of artists will perform in dozens of mainstage and workshop sets as folk music fans sit and listen intently or dance like spastic zombies, depending upon the circumstances.
The Rest
There's also the Imagination Market for families, a mouth-watering outdoor food fair, a crafts tent where local artisans can market their wares and a spacious beer gardens for those so inclined. Bring a raincoat and lots of sunscreen because EFMF goes all out, no matter what! On-site services include bike lock-up, family area, food and beverage concessions, beer garden, crafts, recording and memorabilia sales, information tent, lost and found, first aid, non-smoking area, telephone,washrooms, water and wash stands, recycling stations, environment tent and insta-bank.
